Water Polo Parents Reach Boiling Point Over Gay Sites

High School students in Orange County have shown up on the internet on at least 5 gay porn sites. Parents were furious when the images were discovered of their teens who play on various water polo teams throughout the county and surrounding areas. On some of the sites the students are listed as aged 18 and above but the parents say some of the boys on the teams are as young as 14.

There are two photographers that are known to have taken the photos at the local sporting events.

The problem is not the actual photographs as most of them are not suggestive but some do draw attention to the athlete’s swim wear and one photo shows a player adjusting his suit with a teammate curiously looking on which could be mistakingly viewed as suggestive in nature. None of the photos are erotic but have been placed along side “action pornography” photos in some sites and that is what has parents upset.

One employee of the University of California was suspended while the University investigates because he was found to have been credited for some of the photos.

So far no wrong doing on the part of the photographers have been confirmed since they were taken at public events. The photographers claim they have a right to do whatever they want with the photos but that may not be case if they are used for commercial purposes or displayed along with porn.

  1. @ Toni - I appreciate your input greatly. I also see your point of view and to be quite honest I can

  2. PLEASE REMOVE THE CONTENT ON THIS PAGE THAT REFERS TO [Omitted], WHO ALSO NOW EVERYBODY KNOWS LIVES IN [Omitted]. AND ALSO PLEASE REMOVE THE CONTENT THAT SAYS THAT I HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH WHAT [Omitted] DID. I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT I HAD NO IDEA WHAT [Omitted] WAS DOING. SOMEONE CONNECTED ME TO HIM (PROBABLY THROUGH MYSPACE OR GOOGLE) AND DECIDED TO WRITE AN ARTICLE IN WHICH [Omitted] USED HIS PRODUCTION COMPANY TO DISTRIBUTE ALLEN

    Done…  I do not like removing posts if they have something valuable to contribute to my articles.  This is why I did not remove your comment or the one by “Toni” above that you are referring to.

    However I have removed your name, location and most other information you requested as a courtesy to you.  At the same time it is important to leave certain information so that people can know what’s going on.  It’s not a good idea to have information up one day and the gone the next especially if it hasn’t been contested in several months.  I realize that you weren’t aware of this months ago and that’s why I’m making an exception.

    My edits should satisfy your request as there is no longer a reference to your name, location or the name of your business.  If you have any further questions, concerns or issues to discuss with me please do so via my contact page.  It’s private and you are not risking publicly disclosing your information as you have done by posting a comment to this article.

  4. Allensnaps.com has been permanently closed and I have posted a message on the homepage expressing my apologies for what has transpired in the past as a result of my photography work.

    Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your update here. Just so you know, I am truly sad to discover that you felt you had to permanently close your site because of all that transpired. As I said in my original article above I didn’t personally see anything wrong with your photos or site. That is, from the outside looking in… (I didn’t purchase a membership.)

    I think you are a talented photographer and I do wish you well. It is a shame the wrong people got hold of your photos and made them into something they were not meant to be.

  6. Whatever happened with this? Did the parents ultimately do anything? I haven’t been able to find any updates.

    Thanks for your comments. It’s a shame that some people took my photos and reportedly did awful things with them. I feel bad for anyone that feels hurt by what happened and the only way I could be 100% certain that it does not happen again was to shut down the site.

    @Carla
    Parents did all that they can (in my opinion), they contacted the Orange County DA’s office and the DA did a 4 month investigation to try to determine who was posting these images to porn sites. In the end they could not find the perpetrator(s) and they also determined that no laws were broken so there were no charges that could made against anyone involved. Myself and Mr. Cornelius were never questioned by the DA’s office as I assume it was obvious to them that our images were taken by others and reposted against our will and in violation of our copyright.

    I have left the sports photography business and I am pursuing other business possibilities at the moment. In spite of the legality of what I was doing and in spite of the fact that thousands of other photographers are doing the same thing every day of the year here in the US, I was left with little choice but to move on after being threatened by many angry people who claimed to be parents of players who’s images were taken and reposted where they should not have been posted.
