We’re not sure what this 20 seconds of footage is originally from but we do know that it may just be hottest 20 seconds of non-porn we’ve ever laid lusty eyes upon. Having said that, it’s quite obvious this short clip is indeed from a video where the viewer would be indulged with hot gay sex. Monday Mash – A Vogue Redux to Make Madonna Proud

If you haven’t seen this video then chances you’ve been strapped down all week by something huge and hard that rendered your body bedridden and immobile. I’m talking boulders and rocks – get your minds outta the gutters, peeps!

Last Tuesday after American Idol and the oh so hot Adam Lambert, the excitement continued to build the evening with Glee’s season 2 debut episode. The show picked up where it left off last season and was good but it was just that, a recap by way of beginning where it ended with nothing spectacular happening other than what seemed to be more musical score than usual.

The real gem of the evening’s Glee episode wasn’t even part of the show itself. It was a prelude to what’s to come this week as Glee honors Madonna in song. The trailer, a full 3+ minute video featuring Glee’s Sue Sylvester/Jane Lynch striking a pose as her Madgesty (Madonna) in what may just be the highlight of the entire season. Yeah, it was that good.

The video is a spot-on parody of Madonna’s Vogue video. It’s a must watch and fun comparison with the original. Both of which are being posted here. Glee’s version is above and Madonna’s version is below.

Some people are saying that Glee’s version is actually better than Madonna’s original. What do you think?

What happens when a gay role model gets reeled in by one of the porn industries top dogs in the gay Genre? You get exposed! That’s according to the new DVD title Steven Daigle XXXposed.

Steven Daigle best known for his short stint on the CBS hit reality hit show, Big Brother season 10 comes from Dallas Tx where his only other claim to fame was within the gay rodeo circuit. As a pickup driving, cowboy hat wearing gay Texan, Daigle managed to win his way to champion status and take a number one spot in bull riding. In contrast his mad skilz didn’t play out so well on the CBS show. Daigle says he played around too much with his new housemates and lost focus on the real game at hand. The dismal end of having too much fun resulted in being voted off the show early on.

He might not have been on BB10 that long but his early departure didn’t stop another very important phenomena from taking shape for the Texas cowboy. From the moment Daigle was introduced on the CBS show his charisma, charm, witty intellect and southern humor captured the attention and heart of LGBT America – a role model was born. Perhaps the real winning attribute that Daigle possesses is his masculinity and down home personality. To talk to him you get the feeling he’s just another guy on the block who wonders why everyone likes him. His entire persona begs to differ from that all-to-known gay stereotype the mass media prefers to paint the community with.

Gay blog media across the states shouted declarations that its about time we get an “everyday gay man” on the small screen. He was instantly catapulted into gay heroism and looked upon as a role model for the community by many. A community that awaited more from him by way of entertainment whether it be more reality shows, like Amazing Race or something else in mainstream television or Hollywood. Daigle himself even spoke of his desires of doing more in the entertainment industry and hoped for opportunities that might await him.

Steven's Twitter Campaign to gain more followers - it worked!

The months went by and nothing happened, no major opportunities to speak of for our fast fading and invisible role model. We could speculate that Steven Daigle is just too normal for TV. There were even rumors floating about that the executives at Big Brother encouraged his ousting at an early date because he wasn’t gay enough. To be fair to CBS and BB these rumors were sparse and bore no evidence and they were just that, rumors.

Enter Chi Chi LaRue, a former drag queen extraordinaire, from the Twin Cities now turned Queen of the gay porn industry. Chi Chi has worked with Vivid and Channel1Releasing. He now owns his own DVD label Rascal and has amassed numerous awards from within the industry putting him on the map as a leader in the field.

LaRue is known for his infatuation with the Big Brother series and as a result has befriended many of its alums. Upon becoming friends with Daigle, LaRue suggested that he do a porn film for Rascal. With his acceptance of LaRue’s offer the marketing frenzy began with Daigle saying he never expected to take the path of a gay porn star. LaRue built up Daigle’s new venture as an exploitation of the reality star’s Big Brother fame.

Daigle’s new blue screen flick has been all a buzz amongst gay porn aficionados and has already reached a best seller status for a pre-release on TLA Video. While the marketing and promotion for XXXposed has been an all out feast fest what is not so well known is the second film Daigle was cast in. This comes directly on the heels of the big marketing hype and is appropriate titled Steven Daigle Stalked. Both are available directly from C1R, TLA Video and other retailers.

Both videos have gotten high reviews from those lucky enough to have seen them before the official release date. That date is April 16 for XXXposed and shortly after for Stalked.

We’re not quite sure what’s in store for Daigle’s mainstream television future but we are sure he’s got a bright future in the gay film industry. It could use a real cowboy.

It would appear that he’s thrown out the possibility of being a gay role model. That is, unless you aspire to be a star in the gay porn industry. While Daigle never officially claimed the title as a gay role model he did address such aspirations in an interviews after the season finale of Big Brother 10. At that time he said it was good to let people know that we [gays] are not all the same and come in many different shapes, sizes and personalities and ‘flmaboyancies’ – poking fun at the typical stereotype.

Before anyone takes a jab at Daigle for turning to porn instead of holding out to be the ultimate gay role model you might want to look at it from a more practical perspective. For many actors in the industry, porn pays the bills and for some others it offers a chance at stardom and fame even if it’s not as glitzy or glamorous as Hollywood. For Daigle, he was once asked what his thoughts were on gay rights and marriage in particular. Part of his response was he likes having sex too much to want to get married right now. So there you have it. At least we know our reality star is still keeping it real and doing what he likes best while making a buck or two and having fun doing it.

In conclusion if the rumors were true that Steven Daigle wasn’t gay enough for mainstream television then we can’t think of a more prodigious way to prove ‘em wrong than some in-your0face hardcore gayness. All while looking damn good in a jockstrap and cowboy hat.

Monday Mash – Blare Le Voir – My Immortal

Blare Le Voir was born in Venezuela but raised in the states since he was an infant. Turning just 19 this coming April, Le Voir’s talent as a singer most certainly holds a bright future for this young man. He has put together many cover songs by his musical influences such as Pink, lady Gaga, Evanescence, Adam Lambert and many more.

The featured video here, My Immortal by Evanescence, is just a sample of his undeniable talent. You’ll have to check out his YouTube channel, though it’s a safe assumption that we’ll be featuring this hot talent again in the future.

Le Voir is currently in the process of writing and producing his own music. He hopes to have a some new videos and a CD featuring his original music very soon. His style is smooth, yet digs deep with a soul wrenching grasp that just doesn’t let go. Some fans say his covers are better than the originals. We would have agree with that on a few of the samples we listened to.

We can’t wait to hear his original works. Even with some of the covers he sings them to fit his own style rather than just trying to sound like someone else. Blare Le Voir is a star in the making that will soon burst into a shower of cosmic glitter like a rain from the heavens upon us.

I actually scheduled this post a few days go in advance of today’s posting. In that time, Blare took it upon himself to add a new video is true mash-up style. In it he mashes the songs Heaven by Brian Adams and Speechless by Lady Gaga. Blare brings these two songs together beautifully with his own unique style so I thought it would make a wonderful addition to this week’s Monday Mash. Enjoy!

This week’ we bring you another parody by Jordan Johnson as he makes light of the current trend of the vampire craze. With his cultural great pop vocals and witty lines he makes us laugh and smile throughout the video. The parody is set to music of Fireflies by Owl City.

This isn’t the first time Jordan Johnson has made the Monday Mash feature here at Lika Starr. This past January we were one of the first blogs to post his parody of Lady Gaga’s ultimate hit Bad Romance. Since then that parody has amassed over 200,000 views and still counting. The Fireflies video was released about a week later as a video response and has also enjoyed much success.

Monday Mash – Gay Tik Tok

Mike, Aaron and Ryan of Mike’s Coaster Creation (of YouTube) created this video as an entry to a Ke$ha Tik Tok video contest. The boys have felt the need to proclaim their straightness over and over again since this video has begun to gain some popularity. Apparently there was no need for this reassurance with their previous videos – why I don’t really know. Unless of course they’ve been feeling the taunt by pompous jerks that your everyday gay boy is so readily used to these days.

All that said, Mike, Ryan Aaron, you really have nothing to worry about from those in the know. No gay boy with any sense of fashion (in his right mind) would shake his cute little tight ass in a pair of saggy grays. A real gay boy knows how to flaunt what he’s got even in a comedy act. I still love the vid tho!

Wow, is it about time or is it waaaaay too early for a book about the life and times of Lady Gaga.

Daylight Breaks, the newest video release from his debut album Little Boys and Dinosaurs.

I recently discovered Cassidy Haley via another artist, Adam Lambert, artist and wow I was impressed. The dude’s got the right talent, the right style, the right looks. He just makes you take a step back and say, “Whoah! That’s damn hot!”

Cassidy recently signed on with a new record label. The label, Sunshine Rebel Records, his is own – now that’s the way to do it. Take it and make it your own. No handlers or big time execs telling you how to do this, do that, what to wear, how to sing, what the “public” is perceived to want. Seriously, how can you be the best when you can’t be yourself? Sure, Cassidy may sign with a major label someday but it will be after he lays the groundwork of who he is and how he wants things done. At that point, there’s no turning back and no being made by someone else. I’ve got nothing but respect for this man for doing it the right way and his way.

Monday Mash – Gay Marriage – A Change Is Gonna Come

It’s no secret that I occasionally throw out a political or social statement on this blog. The song in this video was originally intended for the Afirican American civil rights movement. I am aware that by posting this video I will offend some of my black friends. If anyone finds this offending then I am sorry but I do not apologize for the message it makes.

For those wondering why I’m pointing this out it is because a lot of African Americans feel that the LGBT Community is feeding off their trials, errors and success in terms of the fight for equality. They feel it an injustice because they don’t consider the LGBT equality movement in comparison to their own. Most probably that is a result of religious upbringing and teachings that homosexuality is wrong.

I understand but I will tell you where you are wrong. Black equality just as gay equality comes down to one basic commonality and that is the rights of all humans to be treated equally. That, my friends, is where the comparison falls. Be proud that you’ve paved the way for other minorities to follow in your footsteps. For that we (as gays) look up to you and to what you have so boldly and bravely achieved over the past decades. Hopefully that gives even more to be proud of. If not, then are you being selfish of your own basic human right? For the love of humanism should you not share it with other minorities no matter how diverse. Isn’t the acceptance and tolerance of diversity the key to world peace?

We are not saying that being gay compares to being black in the sense of nature. We are not even asking you to change your beliefs. What we are asking you for is tolerance and acceptance. The very same things you asked of white people. Can you honestly deny us of that when the only proof you have that homosexuality is wrong is the same proof that whites had that slavery was right?

Adam Lambert turns 28 today and we’re celebrating his birthday by bringing you his newest video from the hit single, Whataya Want From Me (WWFM). The video was released on January 15th, 2010 and marks it’s debut along with gaining radio play across the country. WWFM continues its success on VH1′s Top 20 video chart while it fluctuates on iTunes. In the coming months RCA and 19 Entertainment will begin marketing Lambert internationally and has already introduced him to Brazil while other countries are waiting in the wings of the Glam Glider to swoop down and cover them in a glitz-style as only Adam can do. Adam Lambert – New Music – More Music Videos

Whataya Want From Me is receiving some major accolades from many critics including MTV’s own Jim Cantiello. The video is multidimensional in that it peels away the persona that is Adam Lambert. It also begs to answer by way of questioning what happened when Lambert shocked the nation with his controversial AMA performance back in November, ’09. ABC pulled rank and canceled several performances after Lambert got a little racy on stage in his performance of his album’s title track, For Your Entertainment. The rehearsed performance included a few “extra” simulated sex encounters in spontaneous fashion and a male/male kiss which prompted some viewers to call in and complain to the tune of approximately 1500 according to ABC. The network immediately pulled Adam from performing on an upcoming early show and from the very popular Dick Clark’s New Years Eve extravaganza. Other networks like FOX and CBS took advantage of the controversy and dove in like vultures to feed themselves with the self-inflicted ABC wounds. As a result Lambert booked more performances and interviews than he could handle and did all of them without ever apologizing for any wrongdoing – Go Adam!

Hopefully the new year, Adam’s birthday and this awesome video will bring some closure to the ridiculous double standard that ABC slapped Adam Lambert with. By contrast, it took 150,000 complaints to warrant action against Janet Jackson for her “wardrobe malfunction “where she exposed a pasty covered nipple during a live Super Bowl performance. Madonna, Britney, and Christina all smooched on the MTV Music Awards show and while it was shocking it was embraced as just that – shocking for the time but it wasn’t even a real nipple. At the same AMA show as Adam’s performance, Janet Jackson shoved a dude’s face in her crotch and there were other performers with provocative moves, yet none of those were reprimanded and they were all female. Double standard – Absolutely.

ManCrunch – Super Bowl 2010 – Brilliant or a Bust

I wouldn’t even touch this story if I weren’t a huge football fan. That being said, here goes…

ManCrunch Super Bowl Butt Shot

Today I heard on my local sports radio show that a dating site called ManCrunch.com is trying to get a commercial spot on this year’s Super Bowl. This was on a Dallas station and I was pleasantly rewarded with little to no overtly adverse reactions from either the radio hosts or the fans who called in to discuss the topic. I’m sure there were “other” calls but most likely they carefully screen their calls – It is Dallas and for the most part the entertainment industry here is gay friendly/tolerant. That said, there were naysayers but mostly with the position the commercial is inappropriate for the Super Bowl because it doesn’t normally attract a gay audience. Of course there were also the concerns fo having to explain that to kids. That along with others who feel all “advocacy” and or political ads should be kept out of all sporting events.

Sorry to say but no one is getting it – The ManCrunch commercial is not geared to towards the gay community at large, nor is advocating gay rights though it does strongly touch on the stupidity of stereotypes. Clearly it is targeting closeted gay men or those otherwise curious. Sure its meant to shock the viewers, all of them. But more importantly (for the business) it’s meant to stick somewhere in the back of that dude’s mind until his wife is asleep late at night as he types in ManCrunch.com on his computer.

ManCrunch is owned by Avid Life Media. The same company that owns AshleyMadison.com, a dating site with a niche in adultery. They’ve done the Super Bowl thing before with that site and were banned. They also got tons of media coverage from CNN, Dr. Phill, Ellen, The View and all the major networks. They’re certainly not wet behind the ear when comes to stirring controversy and profiting from it. They have nearly 6 million members on AshleyMadison.com to prove it.

Avid’s pockets seem to run deep as well. In 2007 they acquired Hot or Not for $29 million dollars. So all you guys out there saying (Towleroad, Queerty, JoeMyGod, ETC) this company probably doesn’t have the bank to fund a Super Bowl commercial better think again. More importantly, do your research.

This past December Avid offered Tiger Woods a contract for $5 million to endorse AshleyMadison. Of course he didn’t accept but talk about feeding off controversy. These guys are pros.

ManCrunch is obviously breaking new ground in that its targeted market is closeted gay males. Remember, their strong points are niche markets. It’s a smart move too as it stands to the reasonable belief there are many more closeted gay/bi-curious men than those who are out and proud. Get with program peeps, that closet is still pretty big and it’s chock full of men urging to get off with other men and that’s exactly what ManCrunch and Avid Life Media are banking on.

By the way, for all you that didn’t get it – that’s what the “down low” is all about on their Site – keeping it secret.

Oh and the black dude in the commerical. Of course its intentional. He’s got a fried chicken leg in hand. Then there’s the butt-load (pun intended) anti-gay props on the wall in the name of signage. At the end of the commerical we’re asked the question, “Why not?” The entire ad is full of stereotypes and begs to throw them all on the table at once as if to imply it’s all stupid, meaningless social ignorance. So it’s okay to venture out of the closet and hook up with many, many, many other men who want to come out and play. That also answers the question to the cheesiness of the commerical itself. In my opinion, it’s a brilliant marketing move. The company wins whether it gets its Super Bowl commerical or not.

What it does for the LGBT community is another story and will remain unanswered until we see the fallout of it all. Personally I don’t see it doing much harm. It doesn’t really matter what pro-gay ads are run on television or in what taste they are presented. Whatever the ad may be, anti-gay organizations are going to counter them and pick them apart and throw them out as chum to their frenzy of hate feeders. I’ll probably get called out on this but if Avid is going to do this, then I’m glad they put the black guy in the commercial. What that says to me is that homophobia is just as stupid as racism.

UPDATE: January 29th, 2010

CBS has officially rejected the ManCrunch Super Bowl ad. Let the rage and outcry begin and it does – talks of double standards and gays boycotting CBS are ensuing on the interwebs. Congratulations are in order for Noel Biderman of Avid Life Media for another well played ploy at controversial marketing. A couple of days ago no one knew of ManCrunch and now it’s the talk of the town, especially with gay related blogs and news outlets. Think that’s enough? Not so fast. ManCrunch is now asking LGBT equal rights groups to step up and fight the rejection of their ad based on discrimination.

The song is even older as it takes us all the way back to 2002 and sung by a very young The Androids band. I used to have this one on a CD. It wasn’t the band’s CD but rather a compilation of party songs. I don’t recall the name or even the production company. I do recall being in Miami on a business trip in 2006 and hearing this song get some airplay on one of local stations. That said, this song never made a hit on the waves here in the states but did peak at #4 in Australia where the band is from.

Bronzing the Bodybuilder - Rocky Remington a.k.a. Tanek

I first saw this video at the Banana Blog and thought, wow what a job to have as a “bronzer” for bodybuilder competitions. There’s no way I could do this without sporting a constant boner. I’d probably have to excuse myself every 5 minutes and relieve the tension by way of a restroom break. Forget smoke breaks, I’d be going on juice breaks.

To my surprise, delight and gratitude to the means of an end… Yes, boys, that’s what I’m talking about. Prior to that with a little research I discovered this bodybuilder is none other than gay porn star Rocky Remington a.k.a. Tanek from Jake Cruise. Oddly enough extreme bodybuilders aren’t even my type. The only explanation I can give is while watching this video I suddenly had visions of applying bronzer to all those fabulously overworked, overtrained and overbuilt muscle studs. Then researching and finding the action on film that followed and there was no turning back.

While there is no sex or full frontal in this video there are parts that may be considered NSFW – so be warned.

One of my faves from a while back. The song is a cover of the hit song, Milkshake, redone by The 5000 Fingers. I love the vocals on this cover song; deep, hot and sexy. The video is really hot too. The only thing that could have made it better would be if the chick in the vid was a hot dude dousing himself with a milkshake.

Maybe I’ll put this huge collection of milkmen photos I have to some good use and make a new video for this cover song. Hmmm…Good idea?
