What Did You Get For Christmas?

This morning was quite a surprise for me. I was getting dressed for the day and my friend is calling for me to come into the living room and unwrap my gift. My friend who has been living with me for 2 months now ( he’s straight…?) is sitting on my sofa spread eagle in some very small, bright orange shorts reminiscent of the 80′s era. Much like this photo, same pose, same expression – Hot! I’ll tell you now that I could not resist. Where this goes from here, I am not sure. But it was one heck of a tasty Christmas morning. Santa didn’t need any milk -n- cookies!

Gayest Gift for Last Minute Christmas Shopping

A buddy, Mike, of mine asked me what he should get his friend for Christmas who has just about everything and is very difficult to buy for. I told Mikey to buy him a nice sweater or if he’s really feeling risque, to go for a nice comfy pair of designer underwear. Nope, I’m informed that wont do. He says this guy is too picky to buy fashion for – even underwear. Though he did admit he’d like his friend to model show off such a gift exclusively for him. Well that just about knocks every thing out of the bag since he also informed me that he’s not really into to tech stuff and what he does have in electronics it’s already the latest and greatest.

I told my friend there’s only one thing left. Porn! Everybody loves porn, right? OK, it’s not for everybody – but it was obvious to me that my friend has both eyes on this guy’s uhm… well, you know. Mike tell me he’d love to do that but with all the internet sites out there already it’s pretty much pointless and besides that he’s not really sure what this guy is into except that he is definitely gay.

Mikey was right. I had getting him a DVD in mind – yeah, they still make those, ya know… But just because a dude is gay doesn’t mean he likes everything gay when it comes to sex. So I told him to to hang on a minute while I go check on something.

After briefly checking online I came back with this idea: A tla giftcard! It can be used online for streaming video, DVD, Books, Calendars, etc. The giftcard can be sent through conventional mail or have it your hot hands instantly via email. It’s available in preset amounts or you can designate your own amount – Perfect! Mikey thought so too and said his friend could get whatever he wanted and it would also be a good way to let him know he was interested in him, in that sorta way. I also suggested he give the gift on one condition – they watch it together! It may be the gayest gay gift ever, but it works.

I’m not sure I’d ever try or recommend these recipes to friends. However, I am sure that this would have to be one of the strangest cookbooks I would ever lay my hands on. I’m even more sure it would make an excellent coffee table book and one that I wouldn’t have a problem displaying. Just imagine the conversation that would take place when just one of several invited dinner guests sees this book lying on the table; then opens and begins to read it. Now that’s priceless!

David Beckham Is Honored By Gay Icon Status

Gay blogs across the world are sure to eat up this bit of news and come back for seconds. BBC Radio recently interviewed the footballer (soccer player) star David Beckham. Perhaps just in time for his underwear ad campaign debut with Armani. We all know that sex sells and gays usually eagerly buy it especially when we feel we’re appreciated.

Becks talks about being a gay icon, his fashion sense and Christmas time at home.

On Being a gay icon:

“I’m very honored to have the tag of gay icon…Maybe it’s things like [the fact] I like to look after myself, I like to look smart and presentable most of the time.”

Becks answered questions from listeners on BBC Radio and said he’s had a metrosexual fashion sense from an early age.

He said, “I always liked to look good, even when I was a little kid. I was given
the option when I was a page boy once of either wearing a suit or
wearing knickerbockers and long socks and ballet shoes – and I chose
the ballet shoes and knickerbockers. It was a little bit strange at the time and my dad gave me a bit of stick – but I was happy.”

Becks attributes a lot of of his look to wife Posh.

He said, “Without a doubt Victoria has a huge part in the way I look these days.

I think most couples agree you have to listen to your partner and
you have confidence in your partner to tell you whether you look good
or whether you don’t and to help you out with your fashion and dress
sense.

In America I am just in shorts, tee shirts and flip flops -
although if Victoria is listening, she’ll probably turn round and say
the truth, that I actually get my outfit ready the night before.”

Posh may influence some of his look but Becks’ got good taste all his own too as well. He said, “I’m very organized and controlled and need to go to bed at night knowing what I’m going to wear the next morning.”

We also know what he’s wearing the next day never includes a pair of previously worn underwear. Like Becks himself, he likes his garments crisp and clean.

That may not apply to Posh’s undergarments though. She stated on her TV show Victoria’s Secrets in January, 2000 that David likes to “borrow her knickers” on occasion. Becks caught some flack from that publicity by football pundit Mark Lawrenson, who didn’t like the idea of “Posh and David Beckham” saying her pop star status was bad for him.

On Christmas time at home:

The Beckham family is back in London for the Christmas holidays while Posh and the Spice Girls take a week long break from their tour.

Becks said, “We spend Christmas just like most families around the world. We get up early.

The boys woke up about 6.30am, which wasn’t too bad. They open their
presents. Me and Victoria always leave our presents to the end because
we want to watch the boys open theirs.

It’s all about the kids until in the evening, when you’re
just sat in the lounge watching Only Fools and Horses and eating all
the leftovers.

And that’s the way it should be. It’s very traditional in our house. We love it.”

He admitted his family has been feeling homesick and said, “One day we’ll back here of course. We miss London and England.”

This time of year is so busy for us on the personal side of things. Old friends and acquaintances want to get together during the holidays. That is fun but it sure can be time consuming. Then we have a group of friends that like to party just a little too much. Both Jake and me are slowly but surely getting out of the party scene. But I have to admit we’ve ramped it up a bit lately, mostly because of all the Holiday get-to-togethers. I’m not saying we’re party freaks or even have a ton of close personal friends. In fact, at times throughout the year I begin to wonder where they all are. But this time of year they seem to come crawling out of the woodwork as it’s said.

What really makes it interesting is that we still have our own sets of friends and over the last year we’ve mixed them up as much as possible. Although I do admit that I have made more new friendships within his circle than he has mine. That’s mostly because I didn’t have that many “gay” friends before we met.

The Holiday shopping is done! Yay!!! Jake and I promised we’d only buy one gift for each other. That is so my kids can get everything they want for Christmas. We were talking about this a few weeks ago and he referred to them as “our” kids. It was so sweet and cute I thought I was going to melt right then and there. Of course we haven’t stuck to the one gift promise. I’ve bought him three gifts and I know of at least two that he’s gotten for me (but I don’t know what they are).

Last night we partied with some friends and got to meet our new pizza guy friend “Nando” in a different light so-to-speak…lol. That whole pizza incident was the talk of the evening. Nando is really a great guy and we promised him we’d do our best to hook him up. Though he really doesn’t need it as he left early with a new friend. Jake told him he wanted pictures to which Nando responded, “Only if you drop the towel next time I make a delivery!” We had a blast picking on him.

Tonight we’re celebrating with my family and tomorrow with his. This should be interesting since for Thanksgiving we didn’t do either. On Christmas Day we’ll be staying home with the kids and their mom will be here. We’re really looking forward to our first Christmas together as a family.

On the blogging front I haven’t been posting as much as I would like to. Luckily there hasn’t really been any major news stories I’ve missed. After the Holidays I’ll be able to resume more of a regular schedule. A couple of blogger friends have stressed how important it is to post something at least once everyday. I understand that totally agree. But also I’m just starting out in all of this and quite frankly, likastarr.com is more or less just a personal blog for me. It is another project that I’ve been working very hard on that will be my mark of success on the internet. I hope to roll that project out beginning very early in 2008.

Just a quick post to remind everyone to – Watch what you eat! This video really has nothing to do with the Holidays but when you consider that this time of year we Americans tend to really pile the plates I thought it appropriate to post a little deterrent. With all the extra food we take in from Thanksgiving to New Years it’s probably a good idea to stay away from the fast food franchises and be a little more aware of exactly what we’re eating.

Viral Video Gems – Huckabee & Wham!

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post on viral videos that spotlighted the current most viral video of the week. I mixed it up a little by including a nice little gem from the past. I really liked that post a lot and have decided to do it again this week. I am still considering whether or not to include this a weekly spot on my blog. I’ll just have to see how it goes…

For this edition of Viral Video Gems, Schmuckabee (I mean Huckabee) gets the top spot in this post. What Really Matters is a commercial for the Huckabee presidential campaign. It was uploaded on YouTube on December 17th, 2007. In just two days it already has 700K views and is fast becoming a “must see” making it this week’s #1 viral video.

The popularity of the video is not because all the viewers are in love with Huckabee’s message. No, that’s not it. The video only has a two star rating (haha). Huckabee, being the schmuck he is, decided to schmooze his fan followers by taking a commercial break from politics and sending a Christmas wish instead.

Not that there’s really anything wrong with wishing America a merry Christmas, but when a presidential hopeful includes a shelving unit as a backdrop that strongly resembles a glowing religious cross things tend to get a little controversial. In this Huckabee commercial video his spoken message is warm but his subliminal one is white hot.

When searching for a Viral Video Gem of the past I thought it would be appropriate that this little gem by George Michael and Wham! accompany Huckabee on this page. The video is Last Christmas and was originally uploaded to YouTube in December of 2006 but it is re-emerging its viral status again tis season. Since the song’s release in 1984 it has become a Christmas classic. It seems the video is also catching up and is on its way to become a timeless classic for the Holiday Season.

Been Kind Of Busy – Tis The Season!

This will be a short post just so you guys don’t think I’ve forgotten about you. I have lots of stuff to catch up on lately. Plus still lots of Christmas shopping left to do and old friends always call this time of year wanting to get together.

I think my PC is catching a cold lately. It’s running slower than molasses as my grandma used to say…of course she didn’t say that about computers. But if they had computers in her day I’m sure they would have been slow too….lol. God, I’m random today!

I have lots of emails to catch up on plus I have to take a new photo and upload it. I’ve tried to talk Jake in taking one with me to show online but he absolutely refuses. So I have to respect that. It seems several people want to see a new pic of me. Not to mention any names but these people people know who I’m talking about: John, Nathan, Rey, Crystal and Alex. Oh and JT, sorry JT…you know you’re special so I had to save you for last. I only have one pic up on the internet and it’s not one of my best but it was the most current at the time. It’s on my Myspace page. Those people that I didn’t mention above are all friends of mine on Myspace and one knows me off-line. So why he’s bugging me for a new pic, I have no idea. Oh, and Rey is not on Myspace (yet)….I’ll get to you too Rey. Rey likes to see who he’s talking to. Can’t say that I blame him with the fake blogger syndrome that seems to be crawling the internet these days – hang in there buddy

I found a video that I like and will be posting it shortly. It’s by BearForce1. Those guys crack me up for some reason. You either love ‘em or hate ‘em I guess. Anyway, It’s a Christmas song so it’s appropriate for the season.
