Gay Pride Misunderstood
It’s been awhile since I’ve wrote an article on a real issue. So take it for what it’s worth to you.
Background: I was checking my blogroll for link validity…etc. One thing led to another and I landed on this YouTube video from TheBigRyo Show. Take a couple of minutes to watch Ryan’s video and then I’ll give my take on the topics he expresses his views on.

Normally I would delete derogatory comments. I have deleted one already on this post because it was just extremely vulgar. I can take the heat personally but I will not allow someone to threaten others. @ RalphP - Your comment was deleted.
However, sometimes it’s best not to delete all of them depending on the nature of the blog post. In this case it validates the reality of verbal bashing which is part of the “adversities” that Ryan in the above video says is not that bad.
With this post I expected some hate comments mostly because I knew readers would come from YouTube after seeing my comment on the video. YouTube has some of the most vulgar, threatening anti-gay comments I’ve ever seen anywhere.
In that sense I guess I could say I’m asking for it. Not really, but that’s it’s seen by the haters. So bring on your comments, hateful or not - I’m man enough to take it. But if you threaten with violence or use extreme vulgarities I will delete your comment simply because it is offensive to others.

Now to answer the real meaning of your post: Why does homosexuality warrant a special set of rights?
It doesn’t. No one is asking for a special set of rights. Homosexuals are simply asking for the same rights as heterosexuals. Simple enough. Unfortunately people like you don’t allow the simplicity. Instead the laws have to be written to inform idiots like yourself that homosexuals are equal to heterosexuals in terms of human rights. So, it is you that makes those rights “special” and not gays.

Actually, I’m not a liberal left-wing. I’m a constitutionalist. The problem with that is our constitution doesn’t serve all people equally. Not that it wasn’t intended to originally but religion and our political parties have divided the constitution. Therefore, my position is a sacrificial leaning to the left.
Why don’t you tell me why you think gays don’t deserve equal rights in employment, tax breaks, estate rights, etc

The constitution doesn’t say anything about marriage. The United States Constitution does not define marriage, and under the U.S. constitution, the government should not be permitted to define marriage on a basis that unreasonably discriminates against individuals.
I never brought up marriage here. Marriage is a religious institution for the most part. I asked you about equal rights in employment, tax breaks, estate rights, etc

Both of these guys have a right to their own opinion. Lika Starr made some valid points in his post and gives us reasons why. The video poster gives us nothing terms of valid reasoning.
The only thing I don’t like about the post is that the video chosen has no merit on the real issue. Why didn’t you (Lika) choose a video that entails an arguable opinion against gay pride? Instead you choose some kid blowing his wad looking for a little attention and you gave it to him.

It’s obvious that you are Ryan, who posted the video I wrote about here. You called tom out here as well as in your video and on your YouTube comments. And, you criticize me for arguing your personal thoughts and beliefs. There were no personal beliefs commented on here by the name of “lol.”
Let’s not forget that even on your YouTube page you ask for ratings and comments no matter how good or bad they are, even the haters. I noticed you also deleted my comment on your video. Interesting, since all I said was that blogged it. It seems as it would turn out, you can dish it but can’t take it.
Finally, why are you afraid to sign your comments with your name and a valid email address? I would think a person such as yourself would be “proud” to stand up for his beliefs and take ownership — but then again, you’re not who you say are, so whatever.

I appreciate your concern but I can handle my own. However, I probably wouldn’t have posted this article had I known what kind of person I was dealing with. I mistakingly took Ryan as being at least somewhat logical. Obviously I was very wrong. What’s done is done and it will stay that way. I won’t “delete” this post because doing so just makes him right and me wrong which is not the case.
I wasn’t going to bring this up here but since you chimed in and suggested that I delete the post I’ll bring a couple of things to your attention. I found Ryan’s video via your website, liltomtom.com, which you now have for sale (btw, good luck with that). You have links to Ryan’s YouTube page all over your home page — that boggles my mind. I am curious as to why since it appears by your comment here that you are against giving him exposure. No response necessary — I was just curious.

Thanks for the comment. As you can see above I didn’t seek out this video. But after your comment I did attempt to find others without much luck. However, I did find a great video from ProMTH on YouTube that argues a similar video. I posted it at the end of my article above. Unfortunately, the video that it argues was pulled by it’s creator and even the creator’s account no longer exists.

You are dead on about gay pride. It has lost it’s meaning over the years. Like you said people celebrate it for different reasons now and the media makes a joke out of it. We are diverse individuals within a minority group. A minority considered less human because of our sexuality. All gays should get a clue and come together. But what do we get? If you can stomach going to a gay pride event this summer, go. I went 2 years ago to the one in Chicago and I seen nothing but guys shaking their shit and throwing beads and cards with their business’ advertisement on it.
It’s a bunch of BOLOGNA. It’s so media-driven and riddled with senseless advertising that it’s become one of the most “WE MUST GO AND GET THE GAYS TO COME SHOP HERE!” type of events.. ugh
It’s NOT about coming together and say “Hey, we love men! HEEHEE” who the fuck CARES!? If you’re gay, you’re gay! No one asked if you were, no one asked you to stand on top of a roof and go “HEY WORLD!! LOOK AT ME!!! HA!!!”

This post still gets a lot of views. Unfortunately most of it is missing. When I revamped my blog design I had some database issues and a few of the older lost chunks of data during a db rebuild — this is one of them ;(
The good news is I still have the original data and should be able to rebuild those posts that lost data. The bad news is I don’t have the time. Someday, maybe…
