Blog after blog, survey after survey you see it everywhere. Here’s my viewpoint on the issue.
The issues of gay marriage is not one of religion or politics. It’s about people (all people) and humanity, all should have equal rights. Marriage for gays would open the doors to equal rights across the board on the more important issues such as employment benefits, insurance, etc.
Sooner or later it will happen folks! Like it or not for whatever your reasons might be. Mark my words: “Gay marriage will happen and become legal in all of the US.” ~ Lika Starr
Get it? Anyone can shack up, but those who commit to each other should have the same rights as all…gay or straight.
As a lead-in it might start as a Civil Union being accepted by the majority. But that would just be the first step. The polls fluctuate up and down but overall the idea is accepted by the people that gays should have the right to marry. It is the politicians that throw in the curve ball of Civil Unions. It’s their way of downplaying the idea to their constituents who strongly oppose the idea of gay marriage whilst supporting it at the same time. Typical politics my friends.
Once Civil Unions for gays are recognized it’s only a matter of time that marriage will follow and accepted into the books of law.
