North America got a cosmic treat earlier this evening just after sunset. The crescent moon, Venus and Jupitor all were positioned in the sky to form a triangle. The three brightest celestial objects were as close together in view as they’ll ever be for another 44 years.
I hope you got to see it because it was a show worth watching. The photo above was taken by me and then enhanced in Photoshop. See the original below…

Wow! that is beautiful. I totally missed this
Seems you also had nice clear skies to view and take the photo. Turned out great!
also interesting what you did with the photo in photoshop. how did you make the moon and stars glow?

Thanks Tommy, the photo manipulation took just a couple of minutes. All I did was mask out the moon and stars and put a blue gradient for the background. Then added inner and outer glow on the objects. Finally, retouched Venus just a bit to try to simulate the red sparkle I saw in the in the sky. The sparkle didn’t turn out so good but I really didn’t want to spend too much time on it. Thanks for the compliments.
Btw, is this the same “Tommy” that wrote in a few months ago about “coming out” if so I’d like an update
The reason I ask is because your email looks familiar but I haven’t looked it up yet.
ha, that was weird. I was still on this page. it refreshed and I saw your comment. does your pages refresh with new comments? I guess we’re both online.
yes this is the same tommy. everything is going great with my aunt. we didn’t talk to each other for a while. I finally told her i wasn’t talking to her until she came to her senses. She finally gave in a few weeks later and called to say she is willing to work on her feeling about me being gay. since then she’s been an angel and has asked me lots of questions to see things from my view. it’s been quite nice. thanks for all your help with that. menas a lot to me.
Cool! I was hoping it was you
Glad to hear everything is working out. Sorry I didn’t email you after all that ask how things were going. I got kind of sidetracked on a few things. Then my blog and hosting provider blew up on me recently.
That’s odd you said the page refreshed. I don’t have any kind of code that I know of that would do that. Even on the backend I have to refresh to see new comments. Take care and do keep in touch…
my bad lika i hit the backspace but causing it to refresh. you should put that chat window back up so you can chat live your readers. i wouldn’t have known you were online if i hadn’t refreshed and saw your reply.

lol, it’s ok. I really loved the chat box when I had it up . The problem is it got out of hand with people typing in crap that meant nothing but mostly spammers trying to hijack it. There was really no way to control it other than making everyone register and that just doesn’t work unless you’ve got a super huge site.
But anyone can contact me on yahoo messenger. My chat id is the same as my name, without the space. I used to have that listed on this site as well but I started getting some crazy invites, lol. However, I don’t mind mentioning it a post every now and then.
